Team New Brunswick has announced the final rosters of the 23 teams that will represent the province at the 2023 Canada Winter Games taking place Feb. 18 to March 5 in Prince Edward Island.

The Canada Games provide a unique opportunity for our talented youth to compete against the very best athletes in the nation. I hope that their participation will allow them to achieve their goals.

New Brunswick will be represented by 210 athletes, 70 coaches, managers and technical staff and 22 mission team members. The group recently held its rally and salute to provide final briefings to the teams and to unveil the ceremonial uniform.

“The Canada Games are a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a high level of competition which will provide our athletes with valuable experience that will help them immensely at future competitions,” said Team New Brunswick chef de mission Nicole Smith, who is leading the team for the fourth consecutive Canada Games.

Sports on the competition calendar for New Brunswick include: alpine ski, archery, badminton, biathlon, boxing, cross-country skiing, curling, fencing, figure skating, gymnastics (artistic and trampoline), hockey, judo, karate, ringette, speed skating (long and short track), squash, table tennis and wheelchair basketball.

The Canada Games are a national multi-sport competition with participation from every province and territory. They are held every two years, alternating between winter and summer. The 2023 Canada Winter Games will bring together about 3,600 athletes, coaches and managers.
