New COVID-19 Relief Funding for Sport Organizations

The provincial government is providing additional support to New Brunswick sports organizations impacted by Level 2 and Level 3 of the winter plan to manage COVID-19.

A one-time financial relief of up to $10,000 is intended for not-for-profit sport organizations that have experienced financial loss due to cancelled programs or events because of the public health restrictions between December 13, 2021, and February 18, 2022.

The COVID-19 Relief Fund will help recovery efforts and support the survival and prosperity of the not for profit sport sector into the future.

Applications for the funding will be accepted until March 11, 2022. More information on the fund, including application details, is available online.

Last year, through a partnership with the federal government, the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture distributed more than $3 million dollars to the New Brunswick sport and recreation sector to help alleviate the financial pressures from the impacts of COVID-19.
