On Wednesday I had the honour of introducing the newest works to the provincial art collection, hosted at beautiful Government House by Lieutenant-Governor Brenda Murphy. The collectionArtNB’s 2023 acquisitions features 23 works of art. Every two years, artworks by contemporary New Brunswick artists are purchased for the collection; this is in addition to public artworks commissioned as part of the construction of any new government building through the New Brunswick Public Art Policy. Since it was established in 1968, collectionArtNB’s portfolio is totalling nearly 1,000 works of art. The pieces unveiled today will be on display at Government House until October, before touring other areas of the province for the public to enjoy. You will be able to see past works of art acquired and these new pieces on our website (https://www.collectionartnb.ca/). You can also read more about each of these talented artists. The next round of applications happens in 2025.

Congratulations to the artists. Your work is incredible!
