Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal Ceremony - Sussex-Fundy-St. Martins

Last night I had the pleasure of being joined by Her Honour Brenda Murphy, Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick in Sussex to host an investiture ceremony for the 20 deserving recipients of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal from across Sussex-Fundy-St. Martins.

This medal was created to mark the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty’s Accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. It honours The Queen and her lifelong service to Canada, as well as those residents of New Brunswick who, like Her Majesty, have been exemplary in their service to others.

These medal recipients lead rather than wait to be led. They enrich our lives with the important work they do – many of them are trailblazers. Others work in the most selfless ways behind the scenes. They make our communities better, and each of us who live here are better for it. Congratulations to everyone who received this special distinction!

Recipients: Bill Anderson, John deWinter Sr, Stacey Stairs, Debbie Harris, Richard Sullivan, Teresa Peck, Sarah Blenis, John Chatterton, Brian Stilwell, Muriel McCullum, Rajni Javed, Norman Chestnut (not pictured), Alfred Smith, Rhoda Wilson, Vernon Seeley, Dr. Steve Allaby (not pictured), Barbara Bickerton, Bonny Hill, Wade Bradford, Emily Palmer (not pictured)
