As both MLA and Tourism Minister, I was thrilled to emcee the official opening of the Vaughan Creek covered bridge in St. Martins today. This opening returns the image of two covered bridges and a lighthouse in the same shot - a picture people travel from everywhere to capture because there is no other image like it in the world. St. Martins is a tourist‘s dream, and this new covered bridge is a modern, state-of-the art link helping lead traffic to the beautiful Fundy Trail Parkway. This two-lane wooden bridge, the first wooden bridge to be built by the province in over 75 years, is important to St. Martins and the province. Come for a visit. It’s even more incredible in person.
