Visiting the Village of Neguac

I always enjoy visiting the quaint village of Neguac. The people are so welcoming. On Thursday I stopped by the local K-12 school, Centre scolaire communautaire La Fontaine, to visit the community theatre with busy volunteer Juliette Barrette (chairperson of the Société culturelle Nigwouek), principal Hermenegilde Patrice and Réjean Savoie, PC candidate in Monday’s byelection for Miramichi Bay-Neguac. I also got a tour of the beautiful tipi created on-site through partnerships in the village to celebrate its rich indigenous culture. And of course a visit to the community wouldn’t be complete without a chat with local legend and tour guide extraordinaire Georges Albert Allain at the municipality’s visitor information centre.
