Balloon Fiesta 2026

A beautiful moon glow, incredible pilots and supportive crews, generous sponsors, tireless volunteers, fun rides, great music, delicious food, a sprawling craft fair, petting zoo and pony rides, and on and on it goes. That is the Atlantic Balloon Fiesta in Sussex, and I am so proud to represent the community where it lives.

Sussex is the Hot Air Balloon Capital of Atlantic Canada, positioned that way as a result of this favourite festival and the homegrown pilots that have been inspired by it.

I was happy to be a part of the official launch on Friday night.

I met newlyweds who married earlier in the day hoping to soar the skies, and was able to congratulate my special constituent Delia Dorey on becoming Canada’s youngest female pilot when she was 19.

There are so many stories to discover, and so many amazing photos to take. Be sure your camera is charged and come for a visit. We would love to see you this weekend.

Now we say a little prayer for perfect weather so the flights can all take off and fill the skies above Sussex in a coat of many colours. There’s nothing quite like it.
