New funding program to support festivals and events
With summer underway, a new program is providing a financial boost to New Brunswick’s one-of-a-kind events. The Invitation Funding Program will provide $1 million for the development of new festivals and events, or to enhance existing ones, to help attract more visitors to the province.
“New Brunswick has so many stories to tell the world through our festivals and events,” said Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Tammy Scott-Wallace. “This funding program will energize our tourism destinations with new offerings for residents and visitors to enjoy with friends and family.”
The program will provide successful applicants with up to $25,000 as part of the department’s strategy to enhance, develop and showcase the best of New Brunswick. Businesses, not-for-profit organizations, municipalities and First Nations may apply.
Projects must take place before March 31, 2023, to be eligible for funding. Applications will be considered until the program’s funds are exhausted.
